Crisis Services

If you need immediate assistance, call 999 from any mobile or landline or go to your nearest A&E

NHS Urgent Mental Health Helpline: available 24 hours a day (England only). Find your local helpline.

Samaritans: call 116 123 anytime, or email jo@samaritans.org for a reply within 24 hours.

Shout Mental Health Crisis Text Service: text “SHOUT” to 85258 anytime for free, anonymous, and confidential text support.

Papyrus: prevention of young suicide, under 35 years. Call 0800 068 41 41 (9am-10pm weekdays, 2pm-10pm weekends) or text 07786 209697. Email pat@papyrus-uk.org

CALM: prevention of suicide, in men and women. Call 0800 58 58 58 or webchat, 5pm-midnight 365 days a year.

Young Minds Crisis Messenger: text “YM” to 85258 (if under 19) anytime for free, anonymous, and confidential text support.

Childline: call Childline on 0800 1111 (if under 19), 7.30am-3.30am Monday-Friday, 9am-3.30am Saturday-Sunday, the number will not appear on the phone bill.
